Alex said, “We’ve been here about 18 years. Initially we started in unit 10. We grew and moved to units 4&5. Needing more space, we also took unit 6. After a while we no longer needed the extra space so gave that unit up. The flexibility here is great, the landlords are very good at accommodating your needs. We would never move from here, ever.”

Claire explained, “Mark showed me a space and made some suggestions on what could be done to adapt it. My husband and I discussed it and, instead of buying a new kitchen, we took the unit! We’ve never looked back. Fast forward 12 years and we now have a large studio downstairs with a waiting room. The office is upstairs alongside another dance studio. There’s been a few facelifts over the years and it certainly feels like home.”

Phillip told us, “Setting up in 1981, we worked from a converted barn in Great Ayton. By 1986 we needed somewhere bigger with industrial space. The Terry Dicken Industrial Estate had recently opened and it was the only one in the area. It was really small back then. Just a handful of companies. We found a spot and built our unit. By the turn of the millennium we needed even more space so moved again to our current premises.”

Olsi shared, “The business was first located near the old auction place on Station Road. We put signs up everywhere promoting ourselves and started leafleting. Every 2 or 3 months we’d drop around 10,000 leaflets, locally. It didn’t take long before the customers started coming. Then two years ago, we moved to a more suitable unit around the corner. The landlords here are really supportive and understanding: the Terry Dicken Business Park is a great, supportive place to be.”

Tony said, “This year sees us moving to bigger premises on the Terry Dicken Business Park. Expansion across the UK in rural and country sports shops meant we needed more room. Mark and Sue are great landlords and have accommodated our growth. We’re very happy here and wanted to stay on the park. Our new unit means everything is now under one roof.”

Robert mentioned, “Rent is competitive and the landlords are very accommodating with any changes or requests. For example, we’ve always been in the same building, but we’ve moved around. Starting off on the ground floor in two offices, we took on a third as the business grew, eventually moving to occupy half of the first floor. Usually moving offices brings huge disruption and incurs costs but as we didn’t even have to change our stationary, it was really easy to do.”
