I met with owner Kev to find out more.
Change of direction
“I’m a fencer by trade”, said Kev. “Unfortunately, since the pandemic, work became really hit and miss. Having a strong work ethic, I was completely bored of sitting at home during the quiet periods. My brother owns a couple of garages and I’d always been interested in the work he did. To fill my time during the quiet periods, with his help, I began selling cars from home. Soon enough, I was spending more time selling cars than working in the fencing business! At that point I decided to go all in and set up Cleveland Vehicle Sales.”
Family-driven success
“My brother has been really supportive. He guided me through the essentials and gave me a valuable head start. There is a lot of competition in this industry so that was very helpful to getting going. It’s truly a family business as my wife, Katie has also joined the company. Our aim is to build it into a successful business so that our children have the option to join us in the future.”
What brought Kev to the Terry Dicken Business Park?
Discovering the park
“We’d recently moved from Thirsk to Stokesley and discovered the Terry Dicken Business Park through our visits to the local authority refuse centre”, Kev explained. “I met Mark when I enquired about premises. He showed me a large unit but I was apprehensive at first about taking on too much space too soon. Once I’d run out of room on my drive at home, and after viewing smaller units that weren’t suitable, I knew I had to just go for it!”
