Crumble & Slice make and deliver delicious afternoon tea boxes, corporate lunch boxes, grazing platters and a range of brownies. Including their award winning, branded salted caramel brownies.
We last met Fiona in Nov 2021 when their new range of corporate branded brownies and business lunches had just been launched.
Let’s find out what’s happened since then.
The patter of tiny feet
“My daughter Sienna was born almost a year ago, Fiona explained. “Although I had initially planned to take some time off, her birth was not the easiest, so that break was longer than expected. However, taking longer to recover means I return to work fully revitalised with new products ready to launch!”
Introducing the grazing station
“The idea originated when I was searching for suppliers for my own wedding. Not wanting to eat a huge breakfast on the day of my wedding, I looked for grazing options. Surprisingly there were very few available. From there, I developed the Crumble & Slice grazing station! It’s a cute way of serving good quality, smaller bite food options to a group of people. For example, think of your wedding morning. There’s usually very little time for the bridal party to sit down together to eat. But it’s really important to ensure everyone is fed! So our grazing station is set up so people can pick the amount of food that suits them, when they can. Easily fitting in around the hairdresser, make up artist, photographer etc.”
Self served or curated
“The grazing station can be set up inside or out and is suitable for parties and corporate events alike. We offer different menus for morning breakfast, brunch and lunch. My baked goods are a staple throughout so expect to see chocolate chip banana bread, cookies, brownies and savoury popcorn. Customers love our afternoon teas so there’s an afternoon tea grazing station as well as a cheese and charcuterie one. We can tweak to suit a theme and guests can self serve. Alternatively, for larger groups, I can be available to curate individual grazing cups during the event.”
Backed by science
Sounds great! Curious about the concept of ‘grazing’ I discovered an article from Women’s Health. Researchers found that those who ate small meals throughout the morning, as opposed to one big one, balanced insulin levels and reduced the release of hunger hormone ghrelin.
Additionally, science journalists Miriam Frankel and Matt Warren state that when we’re hungry, we will likely struggle with complex cognitive tasks, nuance and concentration. Therefore opting for simpler thinking approaches often driven by bias and prejudice. Not an ideal state to be in for those important team meetings!

Feeding the workers
“Whilst it’s important to keep workers fed during the day, a big lunch can cause a slump in energy,” said Fiona. “So our corporate grazing cups are an ideal alternative for a corporate event, team meeting or product showcase. Each cup can carry a corporate logo. Breakfast, brunch and lunch options such as ploughman’s are available. We only need a week’s notice and a minimum of 10. Everything is freshly baked at our bakery on the park. For businesses who still prefer a traditional lunch option, we’re launching a new style sandwich box. This will include a sandwich, mini grazer and a dessert. Delivered to your door!”
It’s obvious that Fiona puts a lot of time and energy into Crumble & Slice. What does she enjoy about it?
Sharing the joy
“I’m very particular, so put a lot of effort into making sure our food looks as good as it tastes. I love feeding people and feel very lucky to do that for a living. Thanks to a wonderful child minder and a great family support network, I also have flexibility and a great work life balance. Making the platters and boxes and tweaking them to please the customer is really rewarding. Especially when customers choose our brownie boxes to gift to others.”

Mighty Mark saves the day
“I actually just recommended the Terry Dicken Business Park to a prospective tenant. Everyone here is really friendly and I like that there is a selection of different businesses. Sue and Mark are very willing to help. You couldn’t find any better landlords, they go above and beyond. Once, I was working in our unit early one Saturday morning rushing to get an order out. Suddenly all my lights went off. I called Mark to see if there was a known issue and he was here in minutes, electrician in tow, to save the day!”
Crumble & Slice have a new website on the way where customers will be able to place their orders online. Also, keep an eye out for new menus coming out in the run up to Christmas.
