A19 is a family-run building maintenance company. Established in 2000, their commercial DOFF cleaning services include roof cleaning, render cleaning and block driveway cleaning. As well as building repairs, pest control, garden clearing and maintenance.
Owner Mark explains how their services are now being offered to home owners.

“We’ve delivered commercial cleaning services to housing associations for over 20 years,” said Mark. “Including roof cleaning, chemical cleans, render cleaning and block paved driveway cleaning. As we do regular work for English Heritage on their grade II listed buildings, we recently invested in a DOFF cleaning system. Having both the system, and its subsequent training, allowed us to expand our services to home owners.”
So what is a DOFF system and what does it do?
The DOFF System
“Similar to pressure washers, the DOFF system relies on high-pressure water for cleaning surfaces. Which eliminates the most stubborn dirt and grime. Making the DOFF system highly effective for cleaning and restoring buildings and structures. However, its advantage over standard pressure washing, is its gentle action on surfaces. Carefully controlled high pressure reduces the risk of damage. Therefore it’s an excellent choice for cleaning and restoring structures with delicate surfaces.”

“The DOFF cleaning system is recommended by architects because it’s effective on roofs and sandstone, cleaning well without ruining the surfaces. In fact, any building covered in render will also benefit from DOFF cleaning as the surface is cleaned very well without being damaged. Jets are angled at 45% and spin to create a turbo effect. This dislodges all the dirt and moss, even at low pressure. So we can clean any type of property. In fact, we’ve expanded our team by 4 so we can now offer home owners a full house package.”
The works
“In addition to cleaning and restoring the building surfaces, we also clean the driveway, roof, fascias, windows and gutters. All gutter cleaning is done from the ground. Using telescopic poles and cameras and what essentially is a giant vacuum cleaner! There is the option to add a biocide that offers a guarantee that no moss will return for 12 months. As the biocide actually kills the moss spores.”

“For anyone thinking of selling their property, I’d definitely recommend our full house package which discounts our individual services when bought as one. This can generally be completed in a day. Depending on the state of what is removed. However, we also remove all of the debris so customers do not have the hassle of any clearing up afterwards.”
What about customers who aren’t considering moving?
Prevention not cure
“Good consistent property maintenance prevents problems. For example, rodents and birds like to use gutters full of debris as walkways. This makes it easier for them to habit your loft space. Full gutters act like a sponge. Encouraging water into brickwork and lofts. This in turn can cause issues with damp. Therefore we recommended having gutters cleaned at least every 12 months.”

Secondly, our team are uniformed and DBS checked and our vehicles are all identifiable. Finally, when we make an appointment, we keep it, that’s a promise. “100% Yes! The park has a nice communal feel and such a friendly landlord. There are no restrictions so it feels like the park is tailored around your business. For example, if we need early access to our unit it’s no problem. We regularly use TK’s Cafe, Platinum Motors and Tyres and Just for Dogs. As a new VW camper owner, I’m pleased to have just discovered Stonewall Leisure too.”
