Supernova Industries source and supply the latest tech solutions for organisations. These include laptops, mobile phones & accessories, monitors and cables. You need it, they can supply it!

“Don’t ask me what I’ve got – tell me what you need.”

That’s how Nicki Frazer-Potts, Business Development Manager of Supernova Industries, sums up her approach to business. Nicki has built a bold new tech solutions company that’s already turning heads – and winning clients – across the UK and beyond.

With over 20 years of experience in sourcing, merchandising, buying and customer service, Nicki’s career path has taken her from production lines to product launches, trade shows to tech bundles. And now, with Supernova Industries, she’s combining all of that experience under one agile, no-nonsense brand.

“It’s the same job, same products – but now I’ve got the freedom to make the decisions.”

Founded in January 2024, Supernova Industries may be a relatively new name, but it’s powered by decades of industry knowledge. Offering a whole range of B2B tech solutions, including laptops, cables, RFID, military-grade cases, phones and more. And if she doesn’t have it?

“We don’t hold stock,” she says. “The tech world moves too fast these days. Therefore, I work on supply and demand. No minimum order quantities. From one item to thousands.”

Supernova works with both end users and resellers – from schools, universities, and councils, to major corporate clients and niche markets. “For example, one organisation might need 1,000 laptops, another might just need cases and keyboards for a tech refresh. Either way, we make it happen.” said Nicki.

“The customer doesn’t have time – that’s where I come in.”

Nicki’s eye for process improvement started early. Years ago, while working on a factory line producing packaging for Cadbury and Russell Hobbs, she quickly noticed flaws in the system. “Every time the line stopped, it took ages to restart and lads were running around looking for tools to fix the issue, Nicki explained. “Wanting to improve efficiency, I created proper workstations, labelled the inventory, and introduced new checking processes at the start and end of every shift. Productivity soared.”

That same hands-on problem-solving runs through everything she does today. Whether it’s a delayed shipment or an odd product request, it’s figured out. “Clients often send me links to products on Amazon wanting large quantities at better prices”, she said. ” That’s the challenge I love – sourcing something better, cheaper, and faster.”

“I’m not a techie – but I am an expert in what customers want.”

Nicki’s route into tech solutions was unconventional. “Returning to the workplace after taking time out to raise a family, I worked in a shop that sold products to aid mobility,” she recalls. “Knowing nothing about SEO or how keywords work I decided to open an online shop. Researching the products we had and choosing what I thought would create the most demand. This resulted in us having the number one ranked site and sales went through the roof! Why? Because I knew the products, and I knew how to look after customers and provide the best after sales service.”

“Entrepreneurs never stand still – but you’ve got to know when to start fresh.”

Later, at a phone accessories company, she managed 45,000 SKUs and helped it grow from £1 million to £13 million in a year. Eventually, she found herself at a crossroads. Explaining, “That company ended up with tech, kitchenware, exercise equipment, and a pet brand. We simply lost our identity. Unhappy at the direction the company was going in I asked for redundancy and decided to move on. Job hunting with such varied experience made it difficult to pinpoint one role to aim for. Alongside problem solving I enjoy buying, merchandising, and data analysis. Roles where I can dig into the process, understand where things come from, and collaborate across departments really excite me, so I started researching companies. That’s when I found Bulk Tainer.”

Bulk Tainer provide bespoke transport services for the shipment of bulk liquid products on a global basis. Based on the Terry Dicken Business Park for a number of years, Nicki approached them with her extensive CV.

“Know your process, understand your customer, and work hard.”

Nicki explains, “After the first interview they didn’t know which department would utilise my extensive skills. During the second interview they noticed my printed water bottle. That gave me the opportunity to talk openly about another area of expertise – printing and merchandising. From there, it was decided that I should meet David the owner of the company. 10 minutes after meeting him, he decided to create a new company for me to run!”

Named after David’s granddaughter Nova, Nicki’s fresh start became Supernova Industries. “First week, I got an order, she said. ” No website. No letterheads. Just my phone and my contacts. It’s about relationships, great customer service and trust.”

“You don’t need five suppliers – just call me.”

Nicki’s clients know she’ll go above and beyond. From branded water bottles for fire brigade training days, to custom phone cases with staff names, her work is always tailored, thoughtful, and efficient. One of Supernova’s big advantages is consolidation. “One client used to go to three different suppliers for tech, accessories, and branded gear”, Nicki said. “Now they come to me. Because I can source the lot.”

Supernova’s customers include:

  • Councils & schools needing a range of tech solutions
  • Healthcare & public sector wanting consistent supply at competitive prices
  • Corporate teams ordering branded tech and staff gifts
  • Resellers who need a reliable, agile partner behind the scenes

“Terry Dicken Business Park is the perfect place to grow.”

Since moving into her unit in July, Nicki has already found herself part of the Terry Dicken Business Park community.

“As a new business, my neighbours have been amazing”, said Nicki. “Wilkinson Joinery and Belts, Conveyors & Accessories take in parcels and help with large deliveries. I now work with local businesses on the park like Mimi’s Embroidery & Print and Direct Business Supplies alongside attending the Stokesley Rotary Club networking events and visiting the park’s cafe. It’s common for me to work with suppliers and customers worldwide, but there’s something special about working alongside great neighbours.”
