Terry Dicken Business Park Feature Friday

Home Fix Computers

Home Fix Computers is a professional technology company offering various computer-related services and accessories for residential and commercial customers based right here on the Terry Dicken Business Park. They have been with us for over 12 years and were the first tenant to be featured in Feature Friday back in Feb 2019.

As we all know, a lot has changed since then so we caught up with Amy Booth to find out the latest.

Keeping up with technology and supply

“The technology market is ever evolving so we are used to constantly looking for and assessing new solutions. However, one of the additional challenges that Covid-19 has brought us is the international shortages of things. With so many people now working from home there is increased demand for new products. Items such as printers and laptops are sometimes very difficult to source so we’ve been busy building up our network of suppliers so we can deliver for our customers.”

The Award goes to…

Avid readers will remember from the last article that Steven and his team attempted to unsuccessfully gatecrash the Brit awards. Unsuccessful then, but this time around Steven has certainly earned his recent award “King Geek Award for Achievements in Locker Systems”

Amy explains;

“With so many people needing to rely on their technology during lockdown, we had to get creative on how we could service our clients whilst still staying safe and compliant. Steven created a Covid secure locker system that allowed customers to safely deposit their broken equipment for repair. Despite the shortages he managed to source some storage cupboards then cleverly added the technology to enable secure remote access. A customer calls to book their item in for repair and is given a locker number, they then safely store the item without the need for any human contact. This allowed us to carry on trading during the crisis and keep our customers online and safe.”

Customers first

“We feel very lucky to have been able to keep our business going during these difficult times. We sincerely thank all of our customers for their support. We’re proud that our business has been built on great customer service, in fact all of our team start in a customer service role, get the required experience and can build their career from there.

Hope for the future

“We have recently welcomed our newest team member, Hope to the business and we also have a vacancy for an IT Helpdesk Technician Apprentice. We’d love to hear from anyone in the local area that is looking for an opportunity to join a dedicated professional technology company.”

Help is always on hand

It was so refreshing to chat with Amy and hear all about how the team at Home Fix Computers have adapted their business and are continuing to be successful and help many people. I concluded our chat by asking Amy if she were to recommend the Terry Dicken Business Park to another business, what would she highlight. Here’s what she said…

“It’s such a nice area, the parking is a huge bonus and it’s a lovely drive to work. Not to mention the nice community, everybody is willing to help each other out and there’s always someone to reach out to, to get help”

I couldn’t have said it better myself!
